Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 October 2026

Guidance and Growth Pty Ltd (ABN 22 697 640 332), trading as Guidance & Growth (“we”, “us”, “our”), respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

What personal information we collect

We only collect personal information that we need to respond to you and to provide our services. This may include:

  • your name, organisation, position, email address and phone number
  • the content of your enquiry and any messages you send us
  • information needed to deliver our services to clients, such as business, financial, payroll and tax records
  • the details you enter in our free online tools (see below)
  • basic technical information when you visit our website, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, which our website host and security software record in server logs.

How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you when you email us, call us, use the contact details on our website, or engage us for services. Sometimes we receive information from a third party, such as your employer, your organisation or another adviser, when you or they ask us to work with them.

Our free online tools

Our Tax Refund Estimator and our G&G 360° Charity Health Check work out your results in your web browser. When your results are shown, the contact details you entered (your name, email address and, if you give them, your phone number, organisation and position) and a summary of your answers and results are sent to us by email at info@guidancegrowth.com.au. We use them to respond to your enquiry and to follow up about our services. We handle them in line with this policy, and we do not sell them. Please do not enter information you do not want to share with us.

If you choose “Email my results”, your own email program opens with your results, and that email is only sent if you send it yourself. You can also email documents to us at info@guidancegrowth.com.au. Please do not send passwords or banking credentials.

The results of these tools are general estimates and self-assessments only. They are not tax, financial, legal or audit advice.

Why we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • respond to your enquiry and communicate with you
  • provide, manage and bill for our services
  • meet our legal, professional and regulatory obligations, including those that apply to registered BAS agents
  • maintain and secure our website and systems.

We will not use your information for any other purpose unless you agree or the law allows it.

Disclosure

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.

We may disclose personal information:

  • to service providers who help us run our business, such as email (including the email service that delivers our website enquiries), cloud storage, accounting software and website hosting providers, who may only use it to provide their services to us
  • to government bodies such as the Australian Taxation Office or the ACNC, when you ask us to act for you or when the law requires it
  • to a registered tax agent or other adviser you ask us to refer you to, only with your consent
  • where otherwise required or authorised by law.

Some of our service providers may store information on servers outside Australia. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure your information is handled in line with the APPs.

Tax file numbers

Our website and online tools do not ask for tax file numbers, so please do not enter one. Where our services involve tax file numbers, we handle them in line with the Privacy (Tax File Number) Rule 2015.

Storage and security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, change or disclosure. These steps include password-protected systems and limiting access to people who need it. When we no longer need information and are not required by law to keep it, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

Cookies and website analytics

Our website uses cookies that are needed for the site to work and to keep it secure. If we use website analytics (such as Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use our site, it collects information about your visit in a form that does not directly identify you. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
